Practical Assistance

PPS would not be able to serve so many families without the generous donations of new and gently used items from the community.

Welcome to the Baby Bank for SLO County!

Family Essentials

At PPS, we provide all things maternity, baby and child up to age five.

Car Seat Program

We assist clients with car seat installation and provide new car seats to those families who need them

Diaper Bank

Clean diapers are a basic need of every baby and toddler. PPS helps fill that need.

PPS is the Diaper Bank and Formula Bank for SLO County.

We distribute essential basic needs such as:

  • maternity clothes, nursing bras & postpartum hygiene products

  • baby and toddler clothes (up to size 5/6)

  • diapers & baby wipes

  • breastfeeding supplies, formula & bottle feeding supplies

  • baby equipment (including safe sleep items)

  • new car seats

  • books & toys

Car Seat Program

PPS staff are certified car seat technicians and instruct our clients how to properly install car seats and safely position their children.

NEW CAR SEATS

PPS provides families with new car seats. We can also help you install your own car seat!

The car seats provided by PPS are fixed (meaning, they stay in the car and are not portable) and will last from birth to approximately 3 years of age.

CAR SEAT CHECKS

Interested in making sure your car seat is properly installed? Want to make sure your newborn/toddler is properly position in their seat? Our certified car seat technician can take a look and provide you with feedback and education.

Please note that car seat installations only take place on Thursdays, by appointment only. We kindly ask that families arrive on time and plan to spend at least 30 minutes learning how to install the car seat in their own car.

Diaper Bank Program

Clean diapers are a basic need of every baby and toddler. Without clean diapers:

  • Babies are exposed to potential health risks and toxic stress;

  • Mothers are at risk for increased maternal depression;

  • Parents are unable to access child care, which require a daily supply of diapers; and,

  • Parents miss work or school.

Serving as the Diaper Bank for San Luis Obispo County, PPS is committed to supplying families on the Central Coast with diapers.
